Are we there yet?  I mean spring of course.  While you’re waiting for the better weather, we’ve set out to accumulate a list of fun things to do for the upcoming weekend.  Embrace the winter and get to know New Hampshire!

Valentine’s Day is this Friday and several ski areas are offering some great deals.  The folks at Jackson Cross Country Skiing are offering a two for one price for couples on Friday.  Check for details at their website.  Ragged Mountain in Danbury is offering a ski or tube special on Valentine’s Day for only $14 but tickets must be bought online.  A family of four can ski or snowboard at King Pine any Saturday night (or any holiday night) under the lights from 4-9 PM, including free family racing (Saturdays only) for only $55! Also at King Pine is a Guided snowshoe adventure exploring the Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary. Departs from The Mill Fitness Center at Purity Spring Resort at 2 p.m on Saturday. Call (603) 367-8896 for more information.

Prescott Farm, an environmental and educational farm located in Laconia, NH, will be holding their 4th annual Winter Festival on Saturday, February 15 from 11 am to 3pm.  Head over for sleigh rides, bonfires and snowshoeing and lots of other activities.  Speaking of sleigh rides, the additional snow should make for some lovely rides throughout NH at Coppal House Farm in Lee, NH; Charmingfare Farm in Candia, NH ; or in the White Mountains at the Farm By the River Bed and Breakfast .

There are a number of farmers’ markets going on throughout the state where you can find local growers and food artisans gathered.  A winter farmers’ market will be held at Cole Gardens in Concord, NH on Saturday from 10am until 2pm with over 30 vendors.  Rolling Green Nursery  in Greenland will hold a farmers’ market on Saturday, February 15 from from 10 to 2pm.  Seacoast Eat Local’s next winter farmers’ market will be held on Saturday, February 22 at Wentworth Greenhouses in Rollinsford, NH from 10 to 2pm.   Check out the Seacoast Eat Local website for a list of all indoor winter farmers’ markets in NH with times and locations.

Feel good about volunteering and help the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation  at North Hampton Beach in North Hampton, NH for a beach cleanup on Saturday at 9am!  Check out their website for more information.  Take in some art at the League of NH Craftsmen with its fine craft exhibition, Hot Stuff: Feel the Heat. This multi-media exhibition features a creative display of fine crafts made by 37 master craftspeople, all juried members of the League. On display at The Craft Center, 49 South Main Street, Suite 100, Concord, NH.  Learn all about starting seeds and garden planning with a free seminar at Wentworth Greenhouses in Rollinsford, NH on Sunday February 16.  Please call 603-743-4919 to save a seat.
